Destiny Momodu is a 21-year-old Nigerian visual and tattoo artist based on the Westside of Atlanta, Georgia. She discovered her passion for art at an early age, beginning to draw as a child. While her mother worked as a teacher and her father ran a car lot and an ice cream truck, he also possessed a quiet artistic talent that he shared only with close family—an influence that subtly shaped her creative path.
Although art had always been central to her life, Destiny did not fully embrace her identity as an artist until the sixth grade. Growing up, she often felt like an outlier, particularly in an environment where pursuing a career as a freelance artist was seen as unconventional. Even in social settings, she experienced a sense of distance that further deepened her connection to her craft.
After graduating from high school, Destiny briefly pursued a path toward becoming an art teacher. However, she soon realized her true calling lay elsewhere. She made the bold decision to leave college and her position as an educator assistant, investing her final paycheck into tattoo equipment. That pivotal moment marked the beginning of her journey as a professional tattoo artist.
Today, Destiny continues to build her career, driven by a commitment to her artistry and a desire to make a lasting impact through her work.
